The property section of the State Office of Risk Management (SORM) administers, with its carriers, insurance of state owned property, buildings, and the contents held within. Claims are most often made due to weather events such as hail, wind or flooding, but also include mechanical failures, fires, and human caused damage to state property. Agencies are requested to submit a loss form within ten days of a loss occurring. Agencies are also subject to a $5000 deductible. It is important to note that only listed buildings and contents are covered so letting SORM know of any new facilities or equipment is extremely important.
